I’m Kate- international educator during the day, artist and designer in the in-between. If you see me slip out from a social event- it’s most likely for the chance to head to the studio!

For me, life it begins with color. I see the world in bright pinks, bold purples, and tantalizing turquoises. My brushstrokes combine curvy and straight, soft with jagged — reflecting the contrasts and harmonies I’ve discovered in places I’ve called home.

After 23 years living abroad, my work is shaped by the textures of life I’ve encountered. I’m inspired by vibrant landscapes, fleeting moments, and the ever-changing light of unfamiliar places. Whether I’m painting florals or abstracted horizons, I want my art to invite viewers to see the world’s beauty- not as perfect or fixed, but as layered, dynamic, and full of energy.

After a big move and a new adventure, I’m now creating my art in Bangkok, Thailand and, during the off-season, in Portland, OR.
